THE VOLLEYROOS 2016
NATIONAL WOMEN’S TEAM

In 2016, the Volleyroos will play in the FIVB World Grand Prix (WGP). The WGP Group 3 will be held from 3-5 June in Wollongong (v Croatia, Colombia and Cuba), from 10-12 June in Mexico or Colombia (v Mexico, Colombia and Kazakhstan) and 17-19 June in Kazakhstan (Finals).
Before that, Australia will compete in the VTV Cup in Vietnam in May, as well as in some preparatory matches in Australia.

Volleyball Australia (VA) is in the process of selecting a new coach for the Volleyroos, and expects to make a decision before Christmas.

The first camp for the Volleyroos in 2016 will be held in Melbourne from Friday 22 January to Sunday 24 January:
Friday 22 January: 6.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. Saturday 23 January: 9.00 a.m. to 12 noon and 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Sunday 24 January: 9.00 a.m. to 12 noon.
Players need to arrive on Friday afternoon/evening, and will be free to leave on Sunday afternoon. The location will be confirmed shortly.

The camp will be led by Shannon Winzer, along with a number of invited Assistant Coaches, including the Head Coaches of the Under 23 National Team and the Under 20 National Team.

Expressions of Interest (EoIs) from players who wish to take part in the camp are now called for. The coaching staff will issue invitations to players from the list of those who have submitted an EoI. The camp is essential for Australian based players seeking selection in the Volleyroos for the WGP and other events in 2016.
