Sun shines on the team from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries

Warm weather greeted our competitors on Friday for the 2021 Fortix Corporate Cup and lead the team from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Community Industries (DLGSC) to their second win in a row.

The Inner-City Beach Courts in West Perth proved to be a very popular venue to host this year’s event, easy access to the many competing CBD businesses, plenty of parking, the space was transformed into a relaxing space, perfect for playing and watching Volleyball.

Fourteen teams took up the challenge in the 2021 Fortix Corporate Cup, with new entrant Wood Liquide facing the reigning champions DLGSC in the Grand Final. Although the team members were different from the 2020 winning team their performance was just as strong throughout the two- hour competition.

Major event sponsor Fortix CEO Paul Faix was on hand to present the trophy to the winning team which we are sure will be displayed proudly in their office. Paul said, “that there was a real buzz and energy amongst the players, who loved the venue, the food and set up”

In addition to thanking Fortix, we would also like to thank our new partners Good Grocer Leederville who this year joined the event to provide some catering to keep the players fuelled up during the competition.

Volleyball WA CEO Robyn Kuhl said,” The Fortix Corporate Cup is a wonderful social volleyball event on our annual calendar, held during Mental Health Week it is a great example of how sport brings people together and starts conversations”.
