A huge congratulations to all the Volleyball WA members and affiliates who were nominated for and then went on to win an award at this year’s Volley Awards.
Held at a new Perth venue, guests were greeted by a trio from the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra who set the scene for the Gatsby themed event at the Hilton DoubleTree Waterfront. Guests were treated to a dazzling view of the Swan River as the sun set before taking their seats in the main arena for the awards and sit-down dinner.
Some of the big winners on the night included;
- Rossmoyne Volleyball Club who won the Robyn Fittock Indoor Volleyball Club of the Year and Volleyball WA Club of the Year.
- Brett Lewington who won Male Regional Beach Player of the Year and the State League Reserve Male MVP.
- Logan Vanderweide from Reds Junior Volleyball Club won the Discover Volleyball Ambassador Award and the Trevor Williams Administrator of the Year Award sponsored by ID Athlete along with Kieren Underwood from UWA Volleyball Club.
- Shelby Maher who won the Female Beach Player of the Year and the State League Female MVP both awards sponsored by Diamond Fitness.
John Sewell was recognised for his 45 years of volunteer service to the sport and community on the evening.
A big round of applause filled the venue when Marty Bertuleit was awarded Life membership, Mandy Combes asked to provide some words detailing his service to the sport.
Rachelle Brammer, a clear crowd favourite was inducted into the Hall of Champions – her good mate Gavin Lewis highlighting her many outstanding career achievements.
Aaron Leung & Brendan Chapman were also popular recipients of the Order of Merit awards on the night.

With the winners all announced the crowd enjoyed the chance to catch up with friends and burn off some energy on the dance floor before getting back to the series business of the Beach Volleyball Season which starts in November.
