2020 Lead Volley Panel Applications Open

Applications are now open for the 2020 Lead Volley Panel presented by Think Again. Following a successful inaugural year, Volleyball WA is excited to once again invite young West Australians aged between 17 and 23 to apply for next year’s panel.

The youth advisory panel will continue to help guide the implementation of a leadership pathway for volleyball in WA, as well as have a say in Volleyball WA’s decision-making process.

“The 2019 Lead Volley panel has been a major part of the Discover Volleyball campaign and have helped advise the sport in several key areas from child safety to merchandise.” Volleyball WA Marketing and Communication Coordinator David Smith said.

“We’re looking for Champions of Change. We want to hear from the next generation, whether you play volleyball or not. We want people who are passionate and who believe they can help steer volleyball into the future.”

The panel will consist of ten people aged between 18 and 24 years (as of 31 December 2020). These members will be selected from an open application process and will be confirmed in mid-December 2019 before Volleyball WA close the office.

The Lead Volley panel will meet four times per year at the Volleyball WA office, regional representatives can attend via skype, with the first meeting to be held in January 2020.  The areas the Lead Volley panel may be tasked with include:

  • Development of the Lead Volley Pathway, commencing with the Lead Volley Camp
  • Accreditation and recognition for young leaders internally and externally
  • Promotion and marketing of the pathway to young people
  • Coach and referee mentor programs for young leaders

The application process will be opened each year; however previous panel members will have the opportunity to stay on as mentors.

Applications are now open and can be accessed HERE. Applications will close on December 6th 2019.
