Why is Volleyball a great school sport?

Volleyball is a great game to teach at schools because it is a team sport that encourages cooperation and communication, which are important life skills for students to learn.

It also helps to develop physical fitness and skills such as agility, coordination, and balance.

It is a low-impact, non-contact sport that can be played by people of all ages and abilities. Teachers find that it is an easy sport to introduce at school because it requires minimal equipment, is easy to learn, and can be adapted to different skill levels for every student. Almost all aspects can be adjusted, such as the ball type, net height, adding chairs or even seating players on the ground.

Additionally, it can be played indoors or outdoors on hard court, grass, or sand surfaces, making it a great option for any school setting.

Volleyball WA offers school clinics and teacher PDs to support schools introducing Volleyball at their school. School clinics can be booked all throughout the school year and for all levels, including WACE preparation. We run multiple Teacher PDs, and participants can choose between the Introductory (Primary School) or Intermediate (High School) course. For more information visit www.volleyballwa.com.au/school-volley

We also sell free standing and grass volleyball kits so schools can adapt to the weather and available playing surfaces. For pricing and purchase visit www.volleyballwa.com.au/volley-shop

Clinics and kits can be supported through a Sporting Schools grant thus reducing any financial barriers for schools to participate. Applications for Term 3 funding opens May 22 and closes June 3. Finally, it is a fun and exciting game that can be enjoyed by everyone.
