Each year the Collie Coal Cup is the one volleyballers want to play in. The Collie Volleyball Association event always promises to be a lot of fun, teams from Perth travel down for the weekend, players dress up and creativity is key when it comes to team names.

This year was again a sell-out, all spots filed in record time, just 30 minutes. There was a high number of regional teams in the competition and those who were lucky enough to get a spot took to the court with great attitudes, sportsmanship and creative costumes.

It was a busy weekend for Collie, with accommodation fully booked, the town hosting both the Collie Coal Cup and Collie River Mountain Bike Marathon.  Spectators enjoyed some thrilling matches and were impressed with the scale, size and organisation of the event. This of course was a result of the hardworking Collie Volleyball Association committee who pull everything together to bring the event to life supported by several local businesses.

The winners of the Collie Coal Cup, which is awarded based on performance, sportsmanship, commitment to duties, costumes and participation in the right spirit went to the 7 Amigos (Mens A Res) well done!
