Volleyball in WA is a game that is played on hard court, grass and sand surfaces and as a State Sporting Association we are investing heavily to ensure we have adequate places to play for our community.

Part of our strategy is to work with local governments, rec centres and schools to secure hard court facilities for state training and competitions. In October 2022, we launched Volleymates to increase spontaneous play at the public beach courts across the state. We also manage beach courts at Cockburn & West Perth which we hire out to clubs, schools and individuals.

This week the courts at Inner City Beach are having a bit of a make-over. Volleyball WA has invested almost $14,500 in replacing the sand on the courts just in time for Round 6 of the Alcohol, Think Again Beach Tour. Athletes competing in this as well as the Masters Beach Volleyball event will benefit from the fresh sand getting better movement around the court so expect to see some outstanding rally’s and dynamic matches.
