Beach Volleyball’s returns to Koombana Bay, Bunbury!

Koombana Bay, Bunbury is quickly becoming a favourite place for our Beach Volleyball athletes to play, and Volleyball WA is pleased to announce the return of the Alcohol. Think Again Beach Tour in 2023.

“Volleyball WA is happy to collaborate with the City of Bunbury to bring a high-level beach volleyball event to this regional town. Bunbury has a thriving volleyball community of its own, and we hope that our top tour players will inspire the next generation of players” said Volleyball WA CEO, Robyn Kuhl.

Bunbury Mayor Jaysen Miguel said” I’m so excited to see this event returning to Bunbury and taking advantage of our beautiful Koombana Bay area. It’s events like Volleyball WA’s that not only provide social and economic benefits for Bunbury, but showcase our amazing City, its beaches, and facilities. Thank you to Volleyball WA for bringing this popular event back to Bunbury, and I encourage our community to get along to check out some of the action.”

The event will be supported by the Bunbury Volleyball Association and our own Brad Barclay, Regional Development Coordinator for the South West & Peel. There will be an opportunity for the community on Sunday from 11 am to have a hit, and grab some prizes and giveaways. Bunbury SEN Spirit 621am radio will also be broadcasting from the event on Sunday so make sure you come on down and get involved with all the fun and excitement of beach volleyball.

The Bunbury event will mark the halfway point of the series so final placings will be important. Local athletes will of course have a home-court advantage and have a good understanding of the weather conditions that can influence the outcome of the game.

As always, we thank our naming rights sponsor Healthway, for supporting our sport and enabling us to take the game out into regional communities.

The final round of the tour is happening on March 18 & 19 at City Beach for more information visit the Volleyball WA website.
