2021/2022 Alcohol. Think Again Beach Tour Schedule Released

With warmer weather approaching and summer just around the corner, Volleyball WA is pleased to release the 2021/2022 Alcohol. Think Again Beach Tour Schedule.

This season the tour will make eight stops across seven of WA’s pristine beaches from November to March, including two regional rounds.

After a two-year hiatus, the beach tour will return to the beautiful Koombana Bay in Bunbury, where WA previously hosted the Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships for back-to-back years. The tour will also return to Mandurah for a second year, this time on a new beach which is still to be confirmed.

“Volleyball WA is happy to collaborate once again with the local councils and associations in Bunbury and Mandurah, to bring an exciting, high-level beach volleyball event to the regional cities.” Said Volleyball WA CEO, Robyn Kuhl.

Following the Australian Women’s Beach Volleyball Silver Medal performance at the recent Tokyo Olympics, and participation numbers tracking upwards across all codes of volleyball, the beach tour is expected to follow suit and welcome swells of new and returning competitors to the sand. Whether the goal is compete for gold medals, maintain mental and physical health, or to enjoy weekends on the beach with mates, the tour provides multiple entry points for participation.

Volleyball WA are thankful for the support of Healthway each year as the naming rights partner for the tour, promoting the Alcohol. Think Again message.  Volleyball WA’s purpose is to inspire healthy minds and bodies through volleyball, which has a strong alignment to Alcohol. Think Again.

“We are proud to work in partnership with Volleyball WA to promote healthy lifestyles and make the sport accessible for more Western Australians.” said Healthway Director Julie Knapton.

There are a number of public open spaces in Perth where beach tour athletes and social volleyball players alike come together to train or have a casual hit, including the posts at City Beach, Cottesloe Beach, Floreat Beach and the brand new posts at Scarborough Beach. There are also many beach volleyball courts set up and ready for hire or use, including West Perth (Inner City Beach), Cockburn CRC, Novelli Reserve and The Parkway in Ellenbrook. In the regions, there are courts in Mandurah, Bunbury, Busselton, Albany and Esperance.

In addition to the Alcohol. Think Again Beach Tour, there will be a variety of beach volleyball events throughout the summer for Western Australians of all ages to get out and get active. To participate or compete this summer, see the 2021-2022 Beach Volleyball Calendar and view details on all Upcoming Events.
