Discover Volleyball at Yagan Square Returns

Volleyball WA in partnership with the WA Association for Mental Health and Development WA are heading back to Yagan Square this Mental Health Week.

Following the success of 2018’s event, Volleyball WA will deliver a range of volleyball activities in the heart of Perth with a focus on getting kids active.

Volleyball WA will be running one-hour Kids Volley clinics from the 7th to the 11th of October, as well as a free lunch time volleyball for Perth employees on the 10th of October as part of World Mental Health Day.

Volleyball WA CEO Robyn Kuhl said she is excited by the opportunity for Volleyball WA to ‘champion Mental Health Week and make sure WA kids get off the couch and find their 30.’

‘Last year’s event was a great launching pad for our Discover Volleyball campaign and reinvigorated our commitment to mental health in the places we live, learn, work and play.’ Kuhl said.

‘This year Mental Health Week falls within the School Holidays so we are delighted to combine the two and deliver a modified Kids Volley program. This year each Kids Volley clinic will start with a short meditation exercise and some kids Yoga to help introduce the mental health conversation to WA kids.’

The $10 Kids Volley clinics will see Perth kids get active by learning the fundamentals of volleyball through some simple skill sessions, followed by a short game. Each kid will receive a Discover Volleyball pack and will go into the running to win one of six $100 Rebel Sports gift cards.
