As of tomorrow, 6th of June 2020, the WA Government’s Phase 3 restrictions will be in place. To this end, Volleyball WA have updated the sport’s Road Map with key messages that relate to sport’s delivery and the venue requirements in Phase 3.
Phase 3 of the COVID-19 WA Road Map sees the following easing of restrictions related to sport and recreation:
- commercial gyms can reopen provided they are staffed and undertake regular cleaning;
- equipment can be shared but should be cleaned regularly;
- change rooms and shower facilities can now open;
- full-contact sport is now permitted, including tackling;
- playgrounds, skate parks and outdoor gym equipment will also reopen.
Organisations that controls or operates premises will need to complete or update their COVID Safety Plan before reopening and explain how the business will take steps to implement the requirements and the advice set out in these guidelines.
The business must have it available for inspection upon request by an authorised officer. If your business has multiple premises, you must prepare a COVID Safety Plan for each premise.
Completed Phase 3 COVID Safety Plans for Volleyball clubs and venues (one for users of venues and one for Volleyball WA’s two venues) can be found below.
To help with the development of your Phase 3 COVID Safety Plan, you can find the Phase 3 COVID Safety Guidelines and Plan below.
Please note all venues must develop a Phase 3 COVID Safety Plan before opening under the new Phase 3 guidelines.
Volleyball WA recommends that all stakeholders review the guidelines, as even if you are not a venue operator, you as a user will be subject to the guidelines.
To help clarify further questions you may have in restarting volleyball activities, Volleyball WA recommends all stakeholders review the WA Government’s Sport and Recreation FAQ’s.
Volleyball WA would also encourage downloading the COVIDSafe app as a further precaution before playing volleyball.
