After a great start to the 2019/20 Alcohol. Think Again Beach season, with 80 teams participating in our first two events of the season, Volleyball WA has some exciting news for 2020.
In 2020, Volleyball WA has another 5 events scheduled as part of the 2019/2020 beach season starting with ATABT Round #3 – Sorrento Beach on the 18th & 19th January 2020. Please check the event page for more details.
As part of our regional rounds in 2020, ATABT round #4 and ATABT round #6 will see the beach tour travel to the lovely Busselton Foreshore right in front of the Jetty and to the wonderful Koombana Bay in Bunbury which is another spectacular venue in the southwest.
Volleyball WA also have three major metropolitan events in 2020 and they are as follows,
ATABT Round #5 – WA Open Scarborough beach
Date: 15 – 16 February 2020
Location: Scarborough Beach
The Alcohol. Think Again Beach Tour Round #5 – WA Open will be our main event for the 2019/2020 season. The WA Open will be once again part of the national tour and Volleyball WA hope to welcome athletes from all over Australia to compete in a two day competition down at Scarborough Beach. The following divisions will be on offer,
- Elite Divisions – Open to all athletes willing to compete in the most competitive division. This division will also offer cash prizes of at least $1000 per gender.
- Competitive division – This is open to all beginners and intermediate players who wishes to have a go and enjoy a fun day at the beach.
- Junior – This competition will have our best junior players preparing for the Australian Beach Volleyball Championship competing in their respective age groups.
- Masters- (Over 35 Category)
The 2019/2020 WA Open will have something for everyone. There will be activities for kids and food trucks attending around for everyone to enjoy a wonderful weekend of beach volleyball at one of the best beach in WA.

ATABT Round # 7 – City Beach & Think. Again High School Beach Cup
Location: City Beach
Date: 7 & 8 March 2020
Round #7 of ATABT next year will also include the Think Again High School Beach Cup. This competitions provides an opportunity for high schools around the state to compete against each other. In 2020, these school will also get the opportunity to watch some of the best athletes in WA compete for ATABT Round #7. The competition is expected to have between 170 to 190 teams with ATABT and TA High School Beach Cup combined.
Some activities around the event will include a Discover Volleyball net for kids to try, food vendors and other activities that will be communicated through the event page early in January 2020.

ATABT Round #8 – Trigg Beach
Location: Trigg beach
Date: 28th & 29th March 2020
Trigg Beach will conclude the last of the eight rounds of the 2019/2020 ATABT Season. This round will see the top 48 teams in WA compete in a graded format over two days at Trigg Beach. Once again Volleyball WA will be looking at providing some activities around the event which will also reward the winners of Top divisions with cash prizes.
A players meet & greet will be organized at the end of the day and the venue will be communicated early in the New Year.
