United Volleyball Club is Passing the Volley

The United Volleyball Club is more than just a group of players, they are an organisation that supports others and is doing wonderful things to enable more in our community to participate in sport.

The Pass the Volley initiative calls on people to donate new or used items that can help someone start or continue their volleyball journey. This could be shoes, sportswear or like our donation, pre-loved Volleyballs.

Both the Club President Tani and Secretary Maurice are from the Philippines and prior to COVID on their home visits, they would deliver a box of donated items to their old high school. COVID has not deterred them, and they continue to support the school’s volleyball program by posting a 30 kg box of donated items gathered from their community here in Perth.

In 2022, the pair are keen to expand their philanthropic efforts to provide a similar donation to a WA regional community and have selected to work with the Bunbury PCYC. The group is perfectly situated in the heart of Bunbury’s sporting precinct and provides a safe and inclusive environment for kids and young people to play Volleyball.

United Volleyball Club is currently looking for donations, new or near new shoes, playing jerseys, knee or ankle braces, volleyballs, and anything that is not currently being used and could be used by a young person looking to give volleyball a go or enable them to stick with the game.

If you can help, you could drop the items off to the club during their WAVL matches or alternatively to the VWA Office in West Perth. For more information please contact the club direct on [email protected].
