The WA Pearls and Hornets traveled away to Melbourne for round 5 of the Australian Volleyball League (AVL). Both teams squared up against the Victorian Volleyball Academy (VVA) on Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th of November.
The Pearls had two long 5 set matches showing some strong fight and aggressive play at times but weren’t consistent enough and fell short in both 5th sets.

The Hornets on the other hand had mixed results. They come out firing on Saturday and beat VVA 3:0 but on the Sunday they struggled to continue the same form and went down 1:3

For round 6 the WA Pearls and Hornets will again be on the road as they take on the Victorian Uni Blues.
Remember to catch the WA Hornets and Pearls for round 7, their last home round on the 21st and 22nd of November at the Albany Aquatic and Recreation Centre. It’s sure to be a cracker as both teams will be rearing to go and take down VVA to try and secure a spot in the finals. These will be the first ever regional AVL games played in Western Australia and are made possible by support from the Department of Sport and Recreation.
