Volleyball WA’s first ever social sitting volleyball tournament took place Saturday 20th September and was a huge success as four teams battled it out to see who would become the first ever VWA Sitting Volleyball Cup Champions.
Mandurah Volleyball Association, Reds Volleyball Club and Southern Cross Volleyball Club all entered teams for the competition, with Southern Cross Masters 2 winning the championship game against their club counterparts Southern Cross Masters 1 to become champions.
The event brought together players with and without physical disabilities, fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere. With a focus on community, fun, and accessibility, the tournament celebrated the growing popularity of sitting volleyball in Western Australia.
Thank you to all the players, referees, and spectators that came along and made the event possible. It was a great day of sitting volleyball and highlighted the growth the sport has gained over the past 18 months across WA.
We thank the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport for their support through the Inclusion Participation Program.
