As part of Sports Medicine Australia Injury Prevention Month a number of course will run throughout the month of October.

Club Injury Management Course

This sports specific course has been designed for volunteers who are involved with sporting teams and wish to expand their knowledge on injury management. This practical course will introduce participants to the basic skills of injury prevention, management, sports taping and transporting an injured athlete.

Date : Thursday 2nd October 2014

Time : 6:30 – 9:30pm

Venue : Department of Sport and Recreation

246 Vincent Street, LEEDERVILLE

Cost : $50 per person

Participants Receive : Certificate of Attendance

 

Level 1 Sports Trainer Course

This hands on course is designed to introduce participants to the basic knowledge and skills of how to prevent and manage injuries on and off the field. These skills include the immediate management of sporting injuries, sports taping and transporting the injured athlete.

*Pre-requisite Current Apply/Provide First Aid Accreditation

Date : Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th October 2014

Time : 9:00am – 5:00pm

Venue : FJ Clark Lecture Theatre,

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital , NEDLANDS

Cost : $255 per person

Participants Receive : Level 1 Sports Trainer Accreditation (valid for 3 years)

 

Sports First Aid

Based around a sporting environment, this Sports First Aid course has been designed to equip people in the sporting industry with the practical skills and knowledge to prevent and manage injuries common in the sporting environment.

Time : 8:30am – 5:30pm

Venue : FJ Clark Lecture Theatre,

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital , NEDLANDS

Cost : $175 per person

Participants Receive : Statement of Attainment
