Perth Masters give the crowd a taste of more to come

The Perth Masters Volleyball Tournament held on Sunday, January 24 at North Beach was a prelude to what can be expected at the Australian Masters Games in October.

Hosted by West Coast Beach Volleyball Club with Volleyball WA’s support, spectators were treated to a display of supreme skill. Robyn Kuhl commented, “that the Masters category starts with players 30+, and that many competitors have only just retired from competing at an elite level.” She went on to say, “People should not underestimate the importance of experience on the court, and of course, continuing physical activity by having fun playing the sport of volleyball.”

West Coast Beach Volleyball Club were the perfect hosts, providing a fun-filled day for players and spectators winding up with a BBQ and an opportunity to socialise. Club President Marty Bertuleit said, “Our club was very happy to host the inaugural Perth Masters beach volleyball tournament, which is an ideal lead-up to the upcoming Australian Masters Games 2021. The event was a great success, and has provided us with a platform to hopefully build into a regular event on the beach volleyball calendar for years to come.”
