New Staff Member to Build Adaptive Volley Program

Volleyball WA welcomes Josh Brown to the participation team where he will work part-time and focus on our various adaptive volley programs which include opportunities for seniors and people of all abilities to play our sport.

Josh is joining us from the Autism Association of WA where he works as a Project Officer for the Autism in Cricket Program, as well as a Support Worker. He also had a role with Cricket Australia as a Customer Support Officer.

Josh studied Sport Management at Deakin University in Melbourne before doing some support work in his home state of Tasmania. As a support worker, he gained a newfound passion for assisting people with disability to access their community, particularly where sport was involved! In April 2021 he moved to Perth with the goal of working in a role that provided sport and recreation opportunities for people who commonly face barriers to sports participation.

Josh is looking forward to building on his knowledge and experience in inclusion in sport and is particularly excited to collaborate with local governments and retirement homes to expand the Volleyball WA Senior Volley program.

When he is not entirely consumed by watching, playing, or working in sport; you’ll likely find him at the beach, playing guitar, road tripping around WA, listening to country music, or ideally a combination of all!

Volleyball WA will be running an All-Abilities program in Term 4 at Melville Leisure Centre – visit our Adaptive Volley page for more information.
