On Thursday, July 1 the Busselton volleyball community rallied to put on an event for junior athletes from Busselton, Cape Naturaliste, and Margaret River High School’s to compete in a friendly competition supported by the Busselton Volleyball Association Inc.
The scheduled School Sport Country Week competition for the second time in two years was unable to proceed after the devastating news that Perth and Peel regions would go into lockdown. For some of the young athletes, this would mean that they were unable to experience what Country Week was all about.
“Each of these young athletes has put in countless hours of training in the lead up to Country Week so it was fantastic they were given the opportunity to display their skills,” said Robyn Kuhl, CEO Volleyball WA.
Thanks, to Christie Daniels and the Busselton Volleyball Association volunteers, some great games were able to proceed, and all competitors played in the ‘Spirit’ of the game.
