VolleyMates goes live!

Volleyball WA launches the VolleyMates app to facilitate the use of public open spaces and encourage spontaneous play.

The demand for public facilities to play volleyball has increased exponentially and Volleyball WA continues to work with local councils in an effort to better service the increasing demand for places to play and promote mental well-being through general physical activities.

Volleyball WA estimated more than 62,000 participants used public courts in 2021 and that more than 300 beach and grass kits were hired so people could play in parks and beaches in Perth.

To help manage volleyball posts on beaches and in parks, the VolleyMates app will allow users to book courts online and play instantly.

Robyn Kuhl, CEO Volleyball WA said ”We want to promote spontaneous play, whether its work mates who wants to release some work related stress, families enjoying the sunset at the beach or visitors who want to give volleyball a go, all you have to do is go on volleyballwa.com.au/BookCourt, sign up to the app, book online and use the equipment found in locked boxes at the venue. “
