Volleyball proudly inclusive!

Volleyball already considers itself an all-inclusive game, open to all ages, genders, and ethnicity.

Sport can break down barriers in ways that other areas of society can struggle to match, by encouraging participation, integration, and diversity. It also plays an important role in creating ‘social capital’ by developing connections, openness, and respect between different individuals and groups.

In WA, The Perth Scorpions Volleyball Club is the state’s first LGBTQIA+ Volleyball Club. They promote diversity, individuality, and community by creating a safe environment where members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and our allies, can feel safe, accepted, and included.

They promote an environment where connections and friendships can be made through a shared passion for volleyball. The club runs training seasons and enters social competitions throughout the year and in 2022 they have partnered with Volleyball WA to introduce the Pride Cup.

This is a one-day social volley competition to be held at Gold Netball Centre on Saturday, November 12. Registrations are open to mixed teams in two different divisions and places are set to fill fast.
