June: The Month of School Sports

School Sport WA (SSWA) and Volleyball WA have a busy month ahead hosting the annual high school event for students in years 7-12, including Country Week and the brand new Champion of Champions tournament in July.

The SSWA Volleyball competition is open to all Government and Non-Government Secondary Schools in WA.  The competitions are held as day carnivals based on the sporting regions – South East, South Coastal, North East and North Coastal. Winning schools on the day will be declared as winners of their regions. The South Coast Region kicks off the month-long festival of volleyball on May 30.

To give you an idea of the scale of the competition – Country Week which runs from 26-30 June has attracted 90 teams from 43 schools from regional WA and Volleyball is one of the largest sports to compete in the School Sport WA events.

The inaugural Champion of Champions Cup will be held on July 28. The 4 Regional ‘A’ Division Champions from both the Junior and Senior competitions will be invited to attend this Round Robin event so placings during the regular competition period are all important.

We wish every athlete competing the best of luck.
