WA Youth Indoor State Team Program

The Volleyball WA Youth Indoor State Team Program begins in May with trials as we prepare representative teams in the U14 – U18 age groups, for the 2026 Australian Youth Volleyball Championships, hosted in Perth from 20–25 September.

State Team Progressive Trials

Our Youth Program will use a progressive trial system for 2026, designed to provide fair opportunities for all athletes while maintaining manageable group sizes and more focused coaching attention. This structure allows coaches to identify talent progressively across multiple trial stages.

All registered athletes are required to attend Trial 1 and Trial 2. After Trial 2, selected athletes will be invited to Trial 3, with further selections made for Trial 4.

Each stage narrows the field to athletes best suited for the next level of development and team selection. If VWA selects two teams in an age group, a Performance Team and a Development Team will be named.

All registered athletes to attend

  • Trial #1 – Saturday 9th May 2026 between 8:00am – 2:00pm (trial schedule TBC) Gold Netball Centre and Kingsway Indoor Stadium
  • Trial #2 – Monday 11th May 2026 between 5:00pm – 9:00pm (trial schedule TBC) – Perth Modern and Kingsway Indoor Stadium

Selected athletes only

  • Trial #3 – Monday 18th May 2026 between 5:00pm – 9:00pm (trial schedule TBC) – Perth Modern and Kingsway Indoor Stadium
  • Trial #4 – Monday 25th May 2026 between 5:00pm – 9:00pm (trial schedule TBC) – Perth Modern and Kingsway Indoor Stadium

 

National Championships

Back for a second year in Perth, the Australian Youth Volleyball Championships will once again bring the country’s best young volleyball athletes to Western Australia from 20th September- 25th September 2026. Games will be played at Gold Netball Centre and Bendat Basketball Centre across the week to crown the Nation’s best.
