Volleyball WA is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), a landmark step in our ongoing commitment to building meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This launch coincides with NAIDOC Week 2025, celebrated from July 6 to 13, under the theme “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.”
Sport has always played a vital role in fostering strong, connected communities. At Volleyball WA, we embrace the NAIDOC Week theme of “The Next Generation” as a call to create an inclusive and respectful environment, especially for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, who represent the future of our sport. We are dedicated to putting our RAP initiatives into action and engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to ensure our efforts are grounded in respect, equality, and inclusion.
We extend our sincere gratitude to current and previous members of our Reconciliation Working Group for their leadership, insight, and dedication throughout the development of our Reflect RAP. Your contributions have been essential in shaping a plan that is thoughtful, inclusive, and aligned with the values we aspire to uphold. We also wish to thank all stakeholders who have supported our reconciliation journey from 2022 to the present.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all Volleyball WA clubs, players, and supporters who generously donated pre-loved sneakers during the recent NAIDOC Round, as part of our partnership with Fair Game. Your donations help Fair Game provide quality recycled sports equipment to remote and underserved communities, many of which include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth. These contributions do more than supply footwear—they unlock opportunities for physical activity, community connection, and healthier futures.
We warmly invite everyone in the volleyball community to join us on this important journey as we honour the past, celebrate the present, and build a unified future together.
