Good Luck to the WA Hornets!

The AVL season starts for our Volleyball WA Hornets team this weekend as they travel to Queensland to play against the Queensland Pirates – good luck to the travelling team!

Head Coach Cameron Edwards stated ‘It’s the dawn of a new era for the WA Hornets team and destiny is in our hands – we are looking forward to bigger and better things!  This weekend we travel to Queensland to play the Pirates team which has three ex Australian players Will Thwaite, John Dekker and Shane Alexander – it will a great way to start the AVL season and a fantastic challenge for all of the WA Hornets athletes!’

The VWA WA Hornets squad currently has 20 athletes ranging between 17 and 37 years of age and representing six  Indoor Volleyball Clubs in Perth.  Eight members of the squad also recently represented Western Australia in the Australian Junior Volleyball Championships – Nic Butler, Daniel Cohen, Stefan Collins, Jack Nichol, Matt Pallot, Ryan Smith, Oswald Tan and Caleb Watson. It’s great to see so many of our talented young Western Australian athletes involved in the AVL season!  Jonathan Hague representing the Southern Cross Volleyball Club is the oldest member of the team.
