First WAVL Home Round of 2014

UWA hosted the first home round game for 2014 on Saturday night at the University of Western Australia. Balcatta was playing against UWA in Div 1 Women and Mens Super League. With great spectator support and a few close sets in the Women’s game, UWA won 3 to 2. The Men’s game also went to 5 set with Balcatta running out winners 3 to 2.

It was great to see Blackburn Realty presenting the MVP awards, who sponsor UWA Volleyball Club. As you can see in the picture to the left, the facility has a very good viewing area over the courts, and I can see this concept becoming very popular. The atmosphere was great with a great group of supporters for each club, it is looking good for all future home rounds.

The next home round is Balcatta vs ECU Chequers on the 10th of May at 5.30pm, at Scarborough Recreation Centre. There will be a DJ, BBQ and refreshments available, so come along and watch!
