WA’s AJBVC Squad heads to Adelaide

This weekend we see our Junior Representatives heading over to Glenelg Beach in South Australia to compete at the Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships which start on Monday 13th January.

This year WA will be represented by 13 teams with 32 athletes.  This year will see our first ever U15 Girls team competing in the Championships.

On Tuesday night there was a presentation to the athletes, attended by Coaches, Team Chaperons and head of delegation and parents.  The presentation was attended by Volleyball WA’s President Damian Oldmeadow,  CEO Robyn Kuhl and State and National volleyballer Tara West who passed on some encouragement and advice from personal experiences on her many overseas tournaments.

We wish all the athletes, coaches (Gareth Bowen, Stacey Lindsay, Rory Read, Marty Suan), Head of Delegation (Carly Walters), Chaperones (Gillian Jean, Kurt Landers, Penny Tuffin), and Sessional Coach (Cole Durant) all the best for the tournament and hope they bring home some rewards for all the hard work they have been putting in over the last four months.
