WA to welcome Volleyroos Head Coach and National Performance Director

 

A rare and exciting opportunity awaits WA male volleyball players aged 18 and under next month as the Australian Indoor Men’s Volleyroos Head Coach, Dave Preston and National Performance Director, Craig Marshall land in Perth for a two-day Boys Development Camp.

The camp will be held at Trinity College on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st April, and will be led by Dave, Craig, and WA’s top volleyball coaches. See the flyer for more details.

Craig ‘Frog’ Marshall has a long history with Volleyball Australia, being part of National Team Programs for over two decades. Craig has an impressive depth of coaching experience as an international beach volleyball coach at five Olympic Games, 11 Senior World Championships and on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour for 19 consecutive years. He has also been an Assistant Coach with the Australian Men’s Indoor Volleyroos from 2017-2020.

Craig’s coaching expertise has contributed directly to podium placings achieved by Australian Men’s and Women’s Teams on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour, including the only medal won by an Australian Men’s Volleyball Team at any World Championship – Beach or Indoor.

Craig’s past role was as the Head Coach of VA’s Queensland Academy of Sport’s (QAS) very successful development program, and he joined Volleyball Australia as the National Performance Director in November 2020.

Dave has spent three decades coaching University Men’s Volleyball in Canada winning 11 of the last 20 conference championships at McMaster University while being named Coach of the Year 7 times, along with 3 National Coach of the Year recognitions. Dave has over 10 years of international volleyball experience in Canada and now with Australia.
