VOLLEYROOS HEAD COACH TO LEAD LEVEL 3 COACHING COURSE

Next month Volleyball WA will welcome the Australian Indoor Men’s Volleyroos Head Coach, Dave Preston, to deliver a Level 3 Coaching course which is only held in WA every two years. Level 3 Participants will also enjoy presentations from VWA Partners Star Physio and Diamond Fitness. Volleyball Australia’s Sport Delivery and Growth General Manager, Nam Pham, will also accompany Dave to assist with the Level 3 course delivery and to have discussions with VWA Staff and Committees on the roll out of the National Participation Plan.

Dave has spent three decades coaching University Men’s Volleyball in Canada winning 11 of the last 20 conference championships at McMaster University while being named Coach of the Year 7 times, along with 3 National Coach of the Year recognitions. Dave has over 10 years of international volleyball experience in Canada and has been leading the Volleyroos Men’s Program since 2022.

Dave and Nam will arrive a few days early to lead targeted Coaching Forums with State Team, State League and State League Reserve Coaches and run training sessions for our existing State Team Senior, U23 and U19 athletes. Volleyball WA will also capitalise on this opportunity for Staff and Committees to meet with these Volleyball Australia representatives to ensure that our plans are aligned with national initiatives for 2024.

Volleyball WA encourages all coaches in our community to consider what’s next for them in terms of education and accreditation. Level 2 State Coaches can still register for this Level 3 Course through the Volleyball WA RevSport portal. We promote all upcoming training opportunities on the Coaches and Referees Facebook Group Page, Volley Voice, and our website.
