Opportunities for Junior Volleyball Players Continue to Grow in WA in 2021

The program for junior volleyball players continues to grow! 

As  events are confirmed and confidence returns, there’s been great interest across the many levels offered by Volleyball WA and its affiliated clubs and schools. With special programs for juniors, various camps, series and cups, State Titles, National Titles and even some new competitions to look forward to, there is something for everyone. 

The High Performance Program in 2021

The Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships (AJBVC) will be held at Coolangatta on the 26th – 29th April 2021 for Under 14, Under 15, Under 16, Under 17 & Under 18 competitors.  

The WA Beach State Team has been selected and athletes will now have several months to prepare. With 55 athletes potentially making the journey over, this trip offers an exceptional opportunity for all involved.

Competition in All Codes and All Forms!

Volleyball’s increasing breadth is offering many more opportunities for junior players to get involved. Each of the codes have new opportunities to have fun, learn new skills and improve your fitness and wellbeing in 2021 . 

Beach Volleyball

Beach volleyball is a great way to spend the summer months! Hosted by West Coast Beach Volleyball Club, Round 2 of the 4v4 Junior Beach Series will be held in January, ahead of Rounds 3 and 4. There is also a Junior Camp scheduled for January, before the Think Again High School Beach Cup commences in March. 

For the very first time, the launch of the Australian Beach Volleyball Schools Cup (ABVSC) provides the opportunity for schools to participate in a National beach event that coincides with the AJBVC. This new competition will also be held at Coolangatta, on the 30 April – 2 May 2021 for Year 7/8,  Year 9/10,  Year 11/12. This is a great opportunity for juniors to represent their schools. 

Finally, there are a range of open events that are well worth checking out over the summer. The Alcohol.Think Again Beach Tour events will be at Trigg 16 & 17 January and and the Alcohol.Think Again WA Open will be held on 30 & 31 January, ahead of the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour will also be in Western Australia from 5-7 February 2020. 

Indoor Beach Volleyball

There are many opportunities for juniors to get involved in indoor beach volleyball in the coming months.  The Indoor Beach Volleyball Federation’s Summer League continues for Under 18 Boys and Girls with the next event in early February

Indoor Volleyball

Indoor Volleyball heats up mid-year.  A junior camp kicks the program off in the April 2021 school holidays, before the Western Australian Volleyball Junior League commences in May.  

For athletes looking to trial for the indoor WA State Team, you will want to get involved in the Preseason Program at the start of May to get your skills up to par for the trials.  

A second junior camp will be held in the July school holidays, and the WA Schools Cup is scheduled for the end of August.
