In an exciting step forward for volleyball, Cyril Jackson Senior Campus, in collaboration with the Perth Scorpions Volleyball Club, has successfully secured $9,000 in funding through the Department of Creative Industries, Sport and Tourism’s (CITS) Community Use of School Sporting Facilities Program.
This funding initiative is designed to foster partnerships between schools and community sporting organisations, to maximise the use of existing facilities. Grants are provided to help make school sporting spaces more suitable, inclusive, and accessible for community use outside of school hours.
As part of the collaboration, Perth Scorpions have been entrusted with overseeing the allocation of funds to upgrade the volleyball equipment they currently use at the school, enhancing training and competition experiences for both the club and broader community users. This successful partnership highlights the value of schools and community clubs working together to create shared spaces that support active, healthy lifestyles.
We encourage all volleyball and community sporting clubs to explore this fantastic opportunity. The next round of applications closes on 12 September 2025.
