5 Things to do at Optus Volley by the Bay 2019

Over the next week Optus Volley by the Bay 2019 will be lighting up Koombana Bay with the best Australian junior beach volleyball players, but that’s not all that will be happening in the South West area.

1. Who can score 180 first?

The Discover Volleyball Event Village is packed full of fun and Optus are making sure you are covered for entertainment. Optus will be bringing their inflatable target designed to test your accuracy. FREE for all to enjoy, why not see whose serve is best by playing a round of volleyball darts!

2. Feeling adventurous?

Forest Adventures South West offers fun filled courses and flying foxes among the majestic trees of the legendary Tuart Forest in the beautiful South West of Western Australia. A fun way to shake things up, Forest Adventures South West are offering Optus Volley by the Bay 2019 patrons a 15% discount, just use the code word ‘volleyball’ when booking.

3. Need to entertain the kids?

These school holidays, why not inspire your kids to be active with the Southern Ports Community Events? Delivered daily on the 15th, 16th and 17th in the Discover Volleyball Event Village at 10am, the Kids Volley Clinics are 45-minutes and designed to get your kids up and active. Registrations are limited & include a Discover Volleyball pack.

4. Want to get in touch with local wildlife?

Did you know that Koombana Bay is home to roughly 50 dolphins who live in the Bay all year round? Located at the end of Koombana Bay, right next to Optus Volley by the Bay, the newly refurbished Dolphin Discovery Centre has something for everyone.

5. Feeling peckish?

Be sure to head down to Koombana Bay from the 14th and watch Australia’s best junior beach volleyball players and try some mouth-watering dumplings. Ma La Dumplings will be serving fresh food daily from the Discover Volleyball Event Village.

Optus Volley by the Bay 2019 will start with the Australian U23 Beach Volleyball Championships on the 13th and 14th of April, followed by the Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships from the 15th to the 18th.
