VWA Senior Volley Program

February 11, 2026

VWA Senior Volley Program

Senior Volley, or Chair Volley, is an adapted version of volleyball catered towards participants aged 55+ or with disability. The game is played with 6 chairs on each side of a 4m long net approximately 1.2m in height. An inflatable light weight ball is used similar to a beach balloon. Court dimensions are around 4m in width and 6m in length, meaning chair volley can be played almost anywhere.

Referees

Referees are essential to any sport. Without referees and the lack of rule enforcement would make volleyball a significantly less pleasant sport to play.

The Foundation Level 1 Referee Course is an introductory course for new referees, aiming to give individuals enough knowledge to get onto the stand to start to learn about officiating.

To register for the Foundation Referee Course please register or login to the Volleyball WA Member Portal.
