Congratulations to Female winners Katie Bartoli and Christie Jenkins and Male Winners Cole Durant and Zac Schubert  in the 2017 Alcohol. Think Again WA State Open yesterday. The Women defeated Sarah Battaglene and Stef Weiler 2-1 in the final and the Men defeated Jayson Fox and Mark van Winsen 2-0.

Jenkins and Bartoli usually play with different partners and despite living in seperate cities (Jenkins is from Melbourne, Bartoli Sydney), they have come together to consistently make podiums. Durant a Western Australia local and Schubert from South Australia train together at Volleyball Australia’s High Performance Centre in Adelaide. Both the winning teams will now turn their focus on next month’s FIVB World Tour event at Shepparton, which will bring teams from around the globe to regional Victoria.

Our new U17 Division at this event was also successful with Tess Bowers and Tia Chamberlain winning the Girls and Samuel Bateman and Tom Dempsey winning the Boys. These U17 athletes are currently preparing for the Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships to be held at Scarborough Beach, 6th-9th April.
