School holidays perfect time to brush up on skills

This week Volleyball WA hosted a school holiday camp for kids and junior volleyballers at Aquinas College on July 13 and 14. It was the first school holiday camp which included kids under the age of 12, as these camps are usually exclusively open to juniors (12-17 years old). With the addition of these younger players the camp had a fantastic turn out of over 130.

What made the camp even more special was a surprise visit from International players Luke Perry & Max Staples. Participants were thrilled to have the opportunity to meet their Volleyroo idols, get some great training tips and game insights. Coaches all commented that the visit resulted in a boost of energy and enthusiasm from the young players clearly inspired by the achievements of these two individuals.

The excited participants learnt from some of the best coaches in the state who specialise in kids and junior volley at a variety of different WA clubs. This camp also provided a great opportunity for the participants to meet other kids their age who also share the same love of volleyball

Feedback from our happy participants indicated that it was an overall positive experience that left them feeling confident about their volleyball skills and playing in the future.

If your child is interested in getting involved with the sport of Volleyball there are a number of different programs held during the school term for both Kids and Junior Volleyball. These programs are not only a great way to learn and improve their volleyball skills, they also provide physical activity and a positive social environment.

For the first time ever a FREE trial will be made available for the Volleyball WA clinics in Term 3. These clinics are held in Cockburn, Northlake, and Morley.  This will give your child the opportunity to try out the sport for free before committing to a term program. More details of the free trial will be released on our Facebook Page.
