Peel Steel Holiday Clinics Success!

In early October, athletes from Perth Steel came down to Mandurah to share some of their wisdom with some of our regional athletes through our Peel Regional Steel Clinics.

Here, we saw aspiring young athletes from Mandurah and the surroundings. Twenty-six boys and eight girls, some as young as 5, developed their indoor volleyball skills at the two-day clinic held at Mandurah Baptist College, led by Steel athletes Ryan Slater and Hayley Fry.

The initiative aimed to provide participants from the region with the chance to learn from top-level players. The clinic marked the first of its kind in the area and was met with enthusiasm from both the participants and the local community.

The clinic was not only an opportunity for skill development but also served as a source of inspiration for the young athletes, allowing them to interact with role models who have achieved success in the sport. By bringing the Perth Steel athletes to Mandurah, the clinic provided a unique and enriching experience that will leave a lasting impact on the participants.

Furthermore, Volleyball WA recognises the Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries for their support through the Regional Servicing Grant for the Peel Region. This funding played a vital role in enabling the delivery of this development activity that promoted the sport of volleyball and facilitated its growth within the community.
