Silver Success for WA Sitting Volleyball

The Western Australian Sitting Volleyball Team has etched its name into the national spotlight after winning silver at the 2025 Australian Sitting Volleyball Championships, held at the Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium on the Gold Coast from December 6–7, 2025. In a thrilling final, WA faced off against La Trobe University (VIC), demonstrating resilience, teamwork, and skill that earned them a place on the podium. Their silver medal finish, after receiving bronze in 2024,  reflects not only athletic excellence but also the rapid growth of sitting volleyball in Western Australia.

Congratulations to all the athletes and coaches who represented Western Australia this year. WA’s silver medal is a landmark achievement, proving that with dedication, support, and inclusivity, Western Australia can compete at the highest level in adaptive sports. We also acknowledge WA Referee, Jimi Baird, who was involved in the officiating at this event.

We would like to sincerely thank our generous team sponsors, Orthotic Prosthetic Solutions, Sana Living, and OreTech Resources whose financial support enabled the team to travel and compete at the national event. We also acknowledges the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, whose Inclusive Participation Program funding has been vital in introducing and sustaining sitting volleyball participation activities across WA.

Our next sitting volleyball participation program will be run in collaboration with UWA Sport from January to March, 2026. For more details, visit the Adaptive Volley page on our website and discover how you can get involved in this inclusive and exciting sport.
