WA Volleyball League (WAVL)
The Western Australian Volleyball League (WAVL) is the state’s premier Indoor Volleyball competition held from April to September each year. The competition is open to all Platinum Volleyball WA Clubs/Associations.
The WAVL competition is divided into the following grades, and there are different requirements for Clubs based on which grade they wish to enter teams into:
- State League
- State League Reserves
- Divisions 1
- Division 1 Reserves
- Division 2 (3 teams allowed per club)
- Division 3 – 6
If you are playing, coaching or refereeing in WAVL for 2026, below are some important reminders before the start of the season:
VWA Platinum Membership
All WAVL players must be 2026/27 VWA Platinum Members before stepping onto the court for a WAVL game. If you play in a WAVL game without a Platinum Membership this will result in a Club fine and Administrative Forfeit for that game (see WAVL Handbook linked below for more details). You can upgrade or purchase your 26/27 membership through your VWA Member Portal. If you are having any difficulties with logging in or purchasing the required membership, please contact the Volleyball WA Office on 92288522.
Internation Transfer Certificate (ITC)
The FIVB requires that all State League & Reserves players whose Federation of Origin is not Australia have an FIVB International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
