Program 2 Trial Details
Date: Saturday 18 July
Venue: Kingsway Indoor Stadium
Time: Boys 8:15am to 10:30am, Girls 10:30am to 12:45 pm
Trial Cost: Free
Membership Requirement: It is required for all athletes to have a current VWA Gold Membership, WAVJL Membership, or Platinum Membership, noting that a Platinum Membership will be required to accept a Squad Offer.
Program 2 Details
The VWA Academy is the official nationally-aligned Talent Development Program for athletes in Western Australia. The program focuses on holistic, long-term, athlete development with training opportunities in both indoor and beach volleyball, individual athlete management and performance planning, volleyball specific strength and conditioning, and periodic access to additional services that contribute to the whole-athlete experience (nutrition, sport psychology, mental well-being, etc.).
The Academy is targeted for athletes born between the years 2007 and 2012 and will be selected to either the Development Squad or the Performance Squad:
Development Squad: Targeted for emerging athletes who are aiming to improve their technical skills and volleyball knowledge.
Program 2 Development Squad Fee: $440.00
Performance Squad: Targeted for experienced and/or identified athletes aiming to strengthen their volleyball fundamentals, expand their tactical skills, and improve their performance.
Program 2 Performance Squad Fee: $660.00.
As part of the VWA Academy for Program 2 you will receive:
- 8 x indoor volleyball sessions including a sport psychology session component
- Individual athlete management, performance planning and goal setting with the VWA Performance Pathways Coach
- 2 x per week strength and conditioning session requirement with Diamond High Performance (Performance Squad only)
Athletes selected to an AYVC Youth State Team will be exempt from trials due to a program scheduling clash, but will still need to register their interest through the link.
