Volleyball Australia Refereeing Opportunities Coming Up

It’s going to be a busy summer ahead with lots of great Volleyball Events on the calendar. The success of these events relies heavily on the quality of officials that we engage from our community.

If you have an officiating qualification and want to be part of the best Volleyball action in Australia, check out the upcoming events and fill in an Expression of Interest. We are seeking Referees, Referee Supervisors and Referee Delegates depending on the specific event.

 

AVL – Super League (Rounds Oct – Dec 2019, Various Cities / Finals 7–8 December, Gold Coast)

In 2019, the competition will return to the Home and Away format with 6 Teams from around the country vying for the title. More information on the competition can be found here.

EOI for Referee for Finals Weekend here (Due 2/10)

AVL- Australian Open Championships (5–7 December 2019, Gold Coast)

Teams endorsed by their State Associations may nominate to compete in this 3-day Tournament, which is expected to be similar to “The Championships” event conducted in Melbourne in 2018. More information on this tournament will soon be released.

Australian Volleyball Schools Cup (7–14 December 2019, Gold Coast)

Our most popular Volleyball event moves to a new home this year on the Gold Coast. Schools from all around the country along with some international visitors compete in this week-long competition. More information on the event can be found here.

Australian U19 & U21 National Beach Volleyball Championships (13-15 January 2020, Adelaide)

This is an open tournament for athletes progressing from junior to senior level competition. For the first time the U19 & U21 is a separate event to the AJBVC. More information on this tournament will soon be released.

Australian Beach Volleyball Tour – Round 1 (25–27 January 2020, Cobram)

After a great experience last year, Cobram have invited us back for an even bigger and better event to launch our national tour. More information on this tournament will soon be released.

In addition,

 

VACT Good Neighbour Tournament– Honours Division (23-24 November 2019, Canberra)

An open club tournament held annually by VACT. Referees Level 3 and above, particularly those seeking assessment and feedback. Level 2 Referees may be considered but will need to provide a letter of endorsement by their State. Numbers are limited so get in early.

VACT will provide:

  • Accommodation for 1 or 2 nights at the AIS (including meals at AIS Dining Hall)
  • Match payment of $25 per game
