Indoor Beach Volleyball Federation Summer Series Finals

Mandurah’s Indoor Sports saw WA’s best indoor beach volleyball player’s battle it out in a hotly contested 2019/2020 Summer Series Finals. With the top 4 teams of each division from the rounds descending on the competition all of the games were hotly contested but it was Joondalup who ultimately collected Champion Centre.

Joondalup’s prowess was on show in the Men’s 1 Grand Final when they beat Osborne Park in two straight sets, 11-5 and 8-6. In the Ladies side of the competition, Ladies 1 saw Osborne Park remain undefeated for the whole 19/20 series with their straight set victory over Bunbury, 13-2, 6-3.

Rachel Knights from the Osborne Park Ladies 1 team said they “were excited to get the gold and beat Bunbury, their toughest competitors throughout the season, to finish the series undefeated. It was tough conditions with a power outage causing the centre to become very humid without the fans, leaving Bunbury knackered by the time they got to the final”.

The Mixed 1 division had some very tight games over the day with double overtime being played in the division’s first game of the day. Canning Vale managed to prevail in this game and head right through to the grand final where they also had to play overtime and eventually defeated Osborne Park to get gold.

That’s a wrap for the Indoor Beach Summer Series 2019/20 but we hope to see you at the 20/21 Series later in the year. Osborne Park Ladies 1 team member, Georgia Diaz sure hopes to see you there and said she “is excited for next season and hopes to have some tough competition to come up against”.
