Robyn Kuhl to Step Down as Chief Executive Officer of Volleyball WA

 

Volleyball WA today announces that Chief Executive Officer Robyn Kuhl will step down from her position, concluding a distinguished tenure marked by strong leadership, strategic growth, and a deep commitment to the sport of volleyball in Western Australia.

Robyn has advised the Board of her decision to resign from her role, with her departure effective from 17 October 2025. She has served as CEO for almost 14 years, leading Volleyball WA through a period of significant transformation and innovation.

Under Robyn’s leadership, the organisation has expanded its reach and impact across Western Australia, fostered stronger connections with clubs and communities, and elevated the visibility of volleyball from grassroots to elite levels. Her passion for inclusion, community engagement, and sport development has been instrumental in shaping a vibrant future for the game.
Chair of Volleyball WA, Ian Phipps, acknowledged Robyn’s exceptional contribution to the sport:

Robyn has been a transformative figure for our sport in Western Australia. Under her guidance, volleyball has grown significantly. Evolving from a largely under-recognised sport into a dynamic, professional, and widely respected presence in the WA sporting landscape. Robyn’s leadership has not only elevated the sport’s profile but also set new benchmarks in governance, inclusivity, and community engagement. Her strategic foresight, unwavering commitment, and passion have shaped the sport’s evolution and ensured its sustainability for future generations. We are incredibly grateful for all she has contributed and wish her every success in her next chapter.”

Reflecting on her time as CEO, Robyn shared:

“It has been a privilege to serve as CEO of Volleyball WA and to work alongside such a passionate and committed community. I am extremely proud of all that we have achieved together.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead this organisation and for the support and encouragement I’ve received throughout my time in the role. Together, we’ve pursued shared goals and aspirations that have driven the continued growth and evolution of volleyball across Western Australia. It has been a rewarding and enriching journey.
To the members of the Volleyball WA Board and the dedicated staff teams I’ve worked with over the years, thank you. Your leadership, trust, and collaboration have meant a great deal to me. I leave confident that Volleyball WA is in a strong position to continue building on the momentum and success we’ve created together.”

The Board of Directors will now commence an immediate recruitment process to appoint a new CEO to lead Volleyball WA into its next exciting phase of growth and development, with further updates to be shared in due course.

Volleyball WA will formally celebrate Robyn’s contributions in the coming months.
