We are thrilled to announce that Denzil Fernandes has been awarded Volunteer of the Year at the 2024 City of Rockingham Sports Star Awards! This celebrates Denzil’s dedication and leadership within our WA volleyball community, specifically through his work with the Baldivis Volleyball Association (BVA).

Since founding the BVA in late 2023, Denzil has transformed volleyball in Baldivis, with new opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels. Under his guidance, BVA has entered teams in both the Western Australian Volleyball League (WAVL) and Western Australian Volleyball Junior League (WAVJL), while also continuing Kids and Junior Volley Programs. His introduction of social volleyball has helped create a sense of community, welcoming players from all backgrounds to join in the sport.

In addition to building these programs, Denzil has been instrumental in securing funding and grants, ensuring the growth and sustainability of volleyball in Baldivis. His work has had a lasting impact on the local sports scene, inspiring many and enriching the lives of countless participants.
