Margaret River SHS Serves Quality Volleyball Programs.

Volleyball in Western Australia continues to see growth within School Volley programs every year.

The Margaret River Senior High School volleyball program started to grow once Stuart Kupfer-Hollis took over the role as Volleyball Program Coordinator and Coach in 2005. The current program caters for all year groups including training Year 7/8 students during breaks, the introduction into the school curriculum of the Year 10 Specialist Volleyball Course, and the extension to the volleyball school curriculum that has been incorporated into Year 11/12 Physical Education Studies course. Having such an abundance of volleyball opportunities has greatly benefited the students not only on the court but also off the court.

Margaret River Senior High School Principal, Mr Andrew Host, commented: “At Margaret River Senior High School we believe that a quality education is not just about academic achievement but also about nurturing, encouraging and challenging our students to be active and responsible contributors to our community.”

Stuart has been working with Busselton Volleyball Association to provide opportunities for talented volleyball athletes to play in both their local league and in the men’ and women’s teams playing the WA Volleyball League. Some of the great volleyball athletes to have come from Margaret River SHS include Gabriel Abbott, Kody Hooson and Christie Daniels.
