WA Hotshots to Play in FIVB World Grand Prix!

The 2015 FIVB World Grand Prix is coming to Australia this weekend and will be the first world women’s volleyball event hosted in Australia since Sydney 2000.

As the Aussie girls prepare for their matches this weekend, they welcome newcomer Jennifer Sadler to the ranks, who will play alongside fellow WA superstar, Sophie Godfrey.

John Boultbee, the High Performance Manager for Volleyball Australia, reflected on the Grand Prix so far saying:

The Women’s Volleyroos have been busy all over the world, playing in the FIVB Grand Prix (the women’s equivalent to the World League) in Kazakhstan the week before last and Algeria last week. They now return home for the finals where they will meet Kenya, Peru and Colombia in Canberra this coming weekend – the first time the Women’s Volleyroos have played at home since 2000! Sophie Godfrey has been with them throughout, and will be joined by Jen Sadler in Canberra. Despite some close matches, the team is without a win so far in this tournament, but the home crowd is expected to make a difference in Canberra.

Jen is looking forward to joining the team saying:

I am very excited for the opportunity it presents. I can’t wait to join the team in Canberra to play for Australia on home soil.
